Hands-on and virtual course - 2025

The Oncoplastic and Breast Reconstruction Course, a partnership between the Araújo Jorge Cancer Hospital and the Brazilian Mastology Society, is a continuing education program consisting of 11 monthly modules, with comprehensive theoretical and practical content on the most modern techniques in oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery, from basic to advanced concepts.

Course highlights

  • In-depth theory: In the theoretical part of the course, the main topics related to oncological, aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery are addressed, through lectures, case discussions with attendees and professors, and preoperative planning.

  • Focus on practice: During the course, approximately 100 patients are operated live, with different needs for breast reconstruction (partial and total), providing participants with the opportunity to closely follow the procedures and learn from the experience of the surgeons.

  • Tradition and excellence: With over 10 years of history, the course has trained approximately 200 physicians, including mastologists, breast surgeons, surgical oncologists, and plastic surgeons from Brazil and various countries, establishing itself as a benchmark in the field.

  • Renowned professors: The faculty is composed of some of the leading names in breast reconstruction in Brazil and worldwide, who act as professors and debaters, sharing their knowledge and expertise with the participants.

  • Social impact: Course alumni are transforming the lives of women facing breast cancer, offering effective cancer treatment combined with the preservation of self-esteem and quality of life, through the use of high-standard oncoplastic and reconstructive techniques.

  • Flexibility: The course is offered in two modalities: in-person (in Portuguese) and virtual (with simultaneous translation into Portuguese, English, and Spanish), meeting the needs of professionals from different locations and with different time availabilities.

Target audience

The course is aimed at physicians, including mastologists, breast surgeons, oncologic surgeons, and plastic surgeons who wish to improve their skills in oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery, offering more complete and humanized treatment to their patients.
